one perforation and cancels it with a second, the T-98 holds it for
as long as one continuous perforation lasts (Hagmann, pp. 89 f. and
100–103; Phillips, p. 121), so none of these is an On or an Off. The
two sforzando valves name the end of the range they pull towards.
